Qualifications for Voting
You must be at least 18
years of age by the date of the next election
You must be a citizen of
the United States
You must have been a
resident of Minnesota for the previous 20 days
You may register to vote up to 20 days before an election by stopping in
at City Hall, 1101 Victoria Curve, or by mailing a completed
registration application to the Dakota County Treasurer/Auditor any time
up to 20 days before an election. You may request that a registration
application be sent to you by calling (651) 452-1850 or by downloading
an
application from the Dakota County web site.
If you are unable to register more than
20 days prior to the election, you may register to vote at the polling
place on election day with proper proof of residency. Click “How to
