Absentee Balloting

You can vote by absentee ballot if you are unable to vote in person on election day because you are...

· absence from precinct
· ill or disabled
· an election judge serving in another precinct
· unable to go to the polling place due to a religious holiday or belief.

You can either vote in person before election day or by mail.

Absentee Balloting in Person: Apply and/or vote at the Mendota Heights City Hall or the Dakota County Auditor's office during normal office hours, or from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the Saturday before the election, or until 5:00 p.m. the Monday before the election.

Absentee Balloting by Mail: Apply early so you can mail or deliver your absentee ballot back to City Hall before election day.
Download an absentee ballot application.

Permanent Absentee Balloting
If you have a permanent condition preventing you from going to your polling place, you can apply to have absentee voting applications sent to you automatically. Call your county auditor or the Mendota Heights City Clerk for details.
