Mendota Heights Parks Celebration!

Friday June 6th & Saturday June 7th - 2008

The May edition of the Heights Highlites will list a complete schedule of events.

Friday Night June 6th
3rd Lair “Summer Series” Skateboard Contest At Roger’s Lake Park
 Rogers Lake Skate Park in Mendota Heights is one of the sites chosen for the 3rd Lair Summer Series. Come down and put your skills to the test, all ages, and all abilities. Winners of each division at each contest will receive a ‘Golden Ticket’ which puts you directly into the finals at the Midwest Melee - held at the 3rd Lair Skate Park on the weekend of August 8th -10th. For more info visit: www.3rdlair.com or call 763-797-5283 (not MH City Hall). Event is run by 3rd Lair staff.
COST: $10.00 (pay day of event)
Registrations will start approx. 4 pm.

Friday - June 6th
Village at Mendota Heights Market Square “Free” Music & Movie
 The businesses of the Village at Mendota Heights along with the Mendota Heights Parks & Recreation Department and Schaeffer Financial Services will “kick off” the summer performance line-up with free music by the “Swamp Kings” followed by a free outdoor showing of the movie “Shrek”
 7:00 p.m. - Music by “Swamp Kings” Cajun/Blues style music
9:00 p.m. - Outdoor movie featuring “Shrek”

Please bring your own lawn chairs, blankets and bug spray.

“Day In The Park” Saturday - June 7th
Noon - 3 p.m. - Mendakota Park

 The City of Mendota Heights Parks and Recreation Department would like to invite you, your family, friends and neighbors to a day in the park to celebrate our parks and bring our community together along with some of our area merchants and residents who through their donations, have made this day in the park possible. The day will feature a youth baseball tournament, musical performances and "Free" youth & family activities.

Bike Rodeo 2008
Noon - 3:00 p.m. - Mendakota Park
 Sponsored by The Mendota Heights Police Department, Boehm’s Cycling & Fitness and MH McDonald’s
*Boehm’s Cycling & Fitness will be providing free bike safety checks. * Kids can ride through the MHPD bicycle obstacle course.
Each participant who brings a bike & rides through the obstacle course will get an extra drawing ticket for a chance to win one of two new bikes.

 USTA- Tennis Block Party
“Causin’ a Racquet” In Mendota Heights!
SATURDAY, JUNE 7 @ MENDAKOTA PARK (PARK CELEBRATION EVENT) Noon – 3:00 p.m.
Open to all ages. Try our Tennis Obstacle Course, Tennis 101, and Beat the Pro, kids get an extra drawing ticket for 2 bikes & other prizes by attending. Our tennis instructor Tim Garvey and our summer tennis staff will be on hand if you would like more information on MH tennis programs and our USTA league too! Don’t miss the fun, games and PRIZES!
