Mendota Heights was incorporated as a Village in 1956.
In January, 1974, Mendota Heights became a Minnesota statutory city,
and operates under the Plan A form of government.
The City Council consists of a mayor and four council members, who are
elected at large. Local elections are held in November of even-numbered
years. The Mayor is elected to a two-year term, and the Council members
are elected to four-year terms. The City Council legislates for the
city and sets administrative policy.
The City Administrator, who is appointed by the City Council, serves
as the chief administrative officer for the city. The administrator
oversees the day-to-day operations of the city implements the policies
of the City Council.
City Hall is located at 1101 Victoria Curve, at the northwest quadrant
of the intersection of T.H. 110 and Lexington Avenue. City Council meetings
are held in the Council Chambers on the main level of City Hall at 7:30
p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month.
